An Idiot Abroad Season Three

Karl Pilkington, Warwick Davies

As co-creator and star of The Office, Ricky Gervais is rightfully assured of comedy immortality. So he’s earned a certain level of indulgence from TV execs. But he’s got to be testing their patience. An Idiot Abroad sees affable grump Karl Pilkington sent off on a trip by his mentor Gervais following (loosely) the footsteps of Marco Polo. Recognizing that – two seasons in – the formula (Karl doesn’t like things that are different to his everyday experiences) is already tired, this time Pilkington’s paired up with Warwick Davis (who basically played Gervais in Life’s Too Short). Davis is a dwarf. You see where this is going. Gervais made his name with acutely observed cringe-inducing humor. Acute observations and humor are thin on the ground here.
